Huawei is a Chinese multinational technology company founded in 1987, headquartered in Shenzhen. Initially focused on telecommunications equipment, Huawei became one of the world’s largest smartphone manufacturers by the late 2010s, known for its high-performance devices and advanced camera technology, particularly in the P and Mate series.

The company gained global recognition through partnerships, like its collaboration with Leica for smartphone cameras, and its use of in-house Kirin processors. Huawei phones were praised for their design, battery life, and powerful photography features.

However, in 2019, the U.S. government placed Huawei on a trade blacklist, restricting access to Google services and U.S. technologies. This significantly impacted its global smartphone business, especially outside China. In response, Huawei developed its own HarmonyOS and AppGallery as alternatives.

Despite these challenges, Huawei remains a major player in telecommunications infrastructure and continues to release smartphones, particularly in the Chinese market. It also invests heavily in 5G, AI, and other emerging technologies.
